Mortgage Education Instructor — NMLS Pre-Licensure & Continuing Education

CA-San Jose

About Loan Factory

Loan Factory is a fast-growing U.S. mortgage brokerage built to help loan officers grow their business with better technology, support, and training. We're launching our own NMLS-approved education program, and we're looking for an experienced instructor to lead it and help shape how the next generation of loan officers learns the business.

The Role

You'll teach NMLS-approved mortgage courses — pre-licensure (PE) and continuing education (CE) — to new and active loan officers, primarily through live online sessions. You'll be the face of our education program: leading the classroom, keeping students engaged, and helping them get licensed and stay compliant.

What You'll Do

  • Lead live, engaging course sessions covering federal and state mortgage laws, ethics, nontraditional mortgage products, and lending fundamentals

  • Help develop course materials and keep them current and compliant with the SAFE Act and NMLS standards

  • Answer student questions and support them through licensing and renewal

  • Use student feedback to keep improving the courses over time

What You Need (Must-Haves)

  • At least 5 years of recent, hands-on experience in residential mortgage lending (recent real estate or appraisal experience will also be considered)

  • Strong working knowledge of current federal and state mortgage laws and regulations

  • Eligibility to teach NMLS-approved courses — you have not been denied approval to offer mortgage, real estate, or appraisal education

  • Confidence presenting live and keeping a virtual room engaged

  • A clear, plain-spoken communicator who can make dense material easy to understand

Nice to Have

  • Active or past NMLS / MLO license

  • Prior teaching, training, or public-speaking experience

  • Familiarity with NMLS Course Provider standards and course-approval requirements

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation

  • Flexible, fully remote schedule

  • The chance to build a brand-new education program from the ground up

  • A collaborative team that moves fast and supports each other
